ONE month.

Today is David and I’s ONE MONTH anniversary!  We made it! 😉

What can I say about marriage?  Hm.  Well, it is nice to know that I have a partner in crime for the rest of my life.  It is very comforting to know that he will ALWAYS be there for me.  No matter what.  I consider myself a VERY lucky lady to have found him.  I know that’s what all women say about their husbands, but I TRULY believe it and FEEL it.  He is such a kind man.  So smart.  So devoted.  So funny.  So helpful.  So patient with me.  So everything I ever wanted in a man.  And he’s all mine ❤  I love you, David.

Our first Thanksgiving!

Yaayyy!  Now that David and I are husband and wife, we get to go through all the “firsts” again!  We were lucky enough to eat three Thanksgiving meals this year.  Our first was spent with my brother-in-law’s family.  It’s always lovely to visit with them and listen to their amazing accents.  They came to the US from South Africa and we’re thankful that they did.  Without them my sister would not have met her husband and we would not have our handsome nephew, Devon.  Not to mention adding six more people to our extended family list.  I love family ❤

Cutest little Kayla showing us her best frog legs 🙂

Me, LovelyLys, and Haven

We also celebrated Leigh-Anne’s 18th birthday!

Our next Thanksgiving dinner was spent with my mom’s side of the family.  We all went up to my Tante Doris and Onkel Pat’s house for quite the feast!

Before heading up to my Aunt’s, I got to brush my kittynephew.

He CLEARLY loved it 😉

Here is a lovely picture of all the boys.  Shorties in the middle!

My Onkel Pat with his silly apron!

David and I cheesin’ with one of my cousin’s daughters, Madeline ❤

You can see EVERYTHING from their house.  They have the most wonderful view!  I just barely caught the sun going down over the mountains out in the distance – SO pretty!

Love it!

Our third Thanksgiving dinner took place at my dear friend Sarah’s house.  She had a Rock Band Pot Luck.  We were an hour & a half late because David was golfing with my dad and brother’s and we brought the STUFFING!  One of the main dishes!  Whoopsie ;\ It was a fun way to end our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife ❤

It really is time.

Saw this video on Sometimes Sweet blog & knew I had to share:

Funny how people, mainly celebrities, can marry, divorce, and re-marry as many times as their little hearts desire, but men cannot get married.  Makes absolutely no sense to me.  It’s wrong.

Words of advice for you today…

If you want something done right you have to do it yourself.

Working a desk job, working for someone else, working under people = motivation for me to start my own business.  It is only a dream right now, but I SWEAR… I WILL do it.  I can make it happen.  No matter how hard it is.  I will make it happen.

Honeymoon! <3

David & I decided to drive up the coast to Oregon for our honeymoon.  David had never been there before and I was ecstatic to see the BEAUTIFUL fall colors!  I had been following a tattoo artist, named Silje, on Instagram and fell in love with her geometrical flowers.  Turns out the tattoo shop she works at is in Portland, OR!  PERFECT!  I showed David the flowers, he loved them, and we booked an appointment with her.  I wish we could have stayed for another week, so we could have had more time to explore this wonderful state.  Anyways, I finally uploaded the pictures!  There are LOTS, so let’s get started…

Our honeymoon started off at the Hilton on PCH.  We were fortunate enough to get our suite as a wedding gift from our dear friends the Kearns family & mamaSuz.  Thanks so much guys! ❤

Our view from the patio.  Hello, ocean!

Hungover me & my lovely dress.  I wasn’t as hungover as poor David was 😦

All my hair crap! LOVED my birdcage and spikey hair piece.  It all fit so perfectly with our Hallowedding theme 🙂

David’s AWESOME tie!  & precious boutineer.

We drove half way up to a sweet little bed-n-breakfast in Sacramento.

Look at how cute it is!

In the morning, my coffee was waiting for me right outside our door!

We headed downstairs for a delicious breakfast! We sat out on the front porch and enjoyed the cool weather, the colorful trees, and watched locals pass by.

First was a fruit salad topped with yogurt, whipped cream, and some shaved nuts.  SO yummy!

David’s magnificent stache had bed head 😉

Next on the menu was this french toast with sauteed plums, kiwi, and of course bacon – Yummy overload!

SO cozy ❤

Annddd… we’re on the road again…

Valley of dead trees.  I love the look of dead trees almost as much as the living ones…

I see snow!

Found this little beaut when we stopped to take a leak.  We must be getting closer!

Yes, this man does have two shot guns mounted up on his back window.  I wish we could do this is California! 😉

The sun is setting!  Are we there yet?!

We finally made it!  Our cute little cabin…

Me and my handsome HUSBAND! Eeeee ❤

There was moss on EVERYYYTHING.  I die.

All kinds of firewoods!

Let’s take a peek inside!

So dreamy! ^ My camera was left in the car over night so it was a little frozen ;\ But I LOVED the affect!

We used the fireplace pretty much every day.  We decided, once we buy a house years from now, that it MUST have a fireplace!

The perfect reads 😉

The amazing kitchen.  And look at those chandeliers!

We were surrounded by mossy trees ❤

My withering bouquet.

The next day, we headed in to Portland to get tattooed!  We got there early so we could walk around the neighborhood first.  Of course I took a million pictures of all the fall leaves.

We found this sweet drawing on some garage.

…right next to this adorable house.

More prettiness…

Leaves completely covered the sidewalks ❤

More art work…

And, of course, I found a Mickey 😉

All the houses were SO colorful!  David and I would fit right in!

Had to get used to those pesky one way streets ;|

Even more art work.  This was on the wall of the little restaurant we ate at before we got tattooed.  Their breakfast burritos were SO good!

The following day, we went back in to Portland to scope out the shopping scene.  Wasn’t much.  But the COLORS! ;D

And this guy…

My favorite, Abe ❤

This fat little kitty!

We played a round of mini golf.  It was underground and had blacklights everywhere!  What a crazy experience.  And perfect since David has taken to golfing lately 🙂

On my birthday we took a little trip to Multnomah Falls.  It was, of course, beautiful…

Crazy split rock.

Tehe 😉

I was getting soaked in this picture!

This is as far as we went.  We still had to head back for birthday dinner.  Plus we were just too lazy and coolllld!

HUGE leaf!

More moss ❤

This is a REAL picture!  I swear!

I took this picture of David just to prove it! 😉

And to end this post (FINALLY, sheesh!), some more fall leaves! Eeeee!!!

The leaves literally GLOWED in the sunshine! ❤

A lot of people told us that we weren’t coming home from Oregon.  It’s true, we did love it, but are SO happy to be home with our kitties, family, and friends.

One word to best describe me…

Hypersensitive.  I think too much.  I feel too much.  I like people too much… or not at all.  I worry too much…

There are just some things that I’d like to keep to myself.  I’ve never been very good at sharing 😉

Well, shoot…

*Blows dust away*

Oh hey, guys! I’m a married woman!! ❤ Our Hallowedding was perfect! Everything was beautiful and most of the guests dressed in costume! And boy, there were some great costumes!

If you haven’t already seen some of our Hallowedding pictures here are some links where they are posted!

Of course, our wonderful photographer, April Smith. Her and Amanda did such an AMAZING job. I lovelovelove these pictures and cannot WAIT to see the rest and get our wedding book!

Our FABULOUS venue, The Jones Victorian Estate! I stumbled upon this venue on Yelp and I am SO happy that I did. Michelle, the head honcho over at JV, doubles as a wedding planner and she is the sweetest lady ever; & such a big help! My mom has already decided that Alyssa, my younger sister, will be getting married there too ;D

This is our florists blog – Flower Allie. She did such a great job putting together my flowers & working with my lantern bouquet idea! 😉 My absolute, most favorite were the thistles. They just fit so well with our Hallowedding & they’re PURPLE – my fav ❤

& last, but certainly not least… we were featured on a cute little wedding blog! I was ecstatic when April texted me on our honeymoon to tell me this great news! HAH! They thought it was just a “fun + quirky” photo shoot. NOPE! That’s my wedding!!!

This weekend we’ll be opening all the wedding gifts, along with celebrating my & my mother’s birthdays. Can’t wait to spend more time with my family! I’ll upload and post honeymoon pictures as soon as I get the chance!

With no wedding to plan and take up my brain space, I’m going to get started on finishing up our house! Yaayyy! Can’t wait to have a COMPLETE house once and for all! Still so much to look forward to! ❤
